Spring 2014 and the color has arrived.

Ahhh, yes. Spring color is always such a welcome sight. This winter was unusually cold so we had some damage to some of the plants. From this view you really cant tell.

Flair tulips are aptly named.
A nice limb of Thunberg Spirea (S. thunbergii) or Baby's Breath Spirea in bloom. The flowers look so dainty but they hold on for several weeks.
This is a Golden Spirit Smoke Bush (Cotinus coggygria). The foliage emerges vivid green in the spring. I try to adjust the camera but it always come out looking so hot. Plant with Azaleas and you have a stellar Spring display.
Full bloom on a classic Delaware White Azalea.
Lunaria Annua, also called Money Plant, has translucent silver dollar like seed pods in the summer. They grow wild all over the region but if cared for in the garden, produce numerous bloom heads.
The White Helleborus recovered from the frigid winter nicely. They usually bloom in January but it was so cold they stayed dormant.
Our Korean Spice Viburnum survived the winter well and bloomed heavily. The fragrance is bold, spicy (think clove) and wafts well on a light wind. Perfect for a sunny patio.
